Use & Care
Can I use Plastno bags for garbage and trash?
Yes! Use Plastno bags just like you would a normal trash bag: fill, tie, and toss. Once in a dump or landfill, it will break down into nontoxic elements and not microplastic residue and toxic debris.
Do I need to compost Plastno products?
You can, but you don't need to. Plastno products are designed to break down cleanly in less than a year, whether they composted commercially, at home or sent to the landfill.
Can Plastno bags be used for recycling?
Many recycling programs require items to be picked up from special bins, meaning a Plastno bag full of recyclables would not be accepted.
If your program allows recyclable waste to be placed in trash bags, a Plastno waste bag would be a more sustainable alternative to plastic trash bags.
We recommend following your recycling program instructions to ensure that your items are approved and recycled properly. If you are currently using plastic bags for trash, Plastno compostable bags will be a positive step in the right direction, as they break down into nontoxic, plant-based elements, without producing microplastics or greenhouse gases.
Can I compost Plastno products at home? What about a commerical pick up service?
Plastno bags are TUV-certified home compostable and BPI-certified industrial compostable. That means you can compost at home or use a commercial or industrial service. Learn more.

Where are your products made?
All of our compostable products are thoughtfully designed by Plastno in Canada and manufactured with globally sourced materials in China by our BSCI certified partners.
We are proud of our manufacturing processes and partners, and are fully committed to building products and a brand with integrity.
We apply the highest standards to ensure that every person in our supply chain is valued, respected and safe. We work ethically in our US distribution centers and factories, our Canadian offices and the factories and farms in China. We know where and how our products are sourced, made and shipped.
What are your products made from?
Our compostable products are made from corn starch and sugar cane, which are a 100% renewable plants, and grown on responsibly-managed plantations. Polybutylene adipate terephthalate (PBAT) and polylactic acid (PLA), which are also renewable, are added to our products to make them strong and compostable.

Are your products 100% compostable and biodegradable?
Absolutely! Plastno products are completely compostable and biodegradable. We understand the importance of reducing plastic waste and protecting the environment, which is why we use materials that are environmentally-friendly and safe for the planet. Plastno products are made from non-GMO, renewable plant-based materials such as corn starch, which break down naturally in composting environments or in landfills, and do not harm the soil or groundwater. This makes them a sustainable and eco-friendly alternative to traditional petroleum-based products.
It's important to note that for our products to biodegrade and compost, they must be disposed of in an industrial composting facility, where the temperature and humidity can be controlled to create optimal conditions for decomposition. In a home composting bin, biodegradation may take longer, so we recommend following local regulations for the proper disposal of our compostable products.
Are your products certified?
Yes, our compostable products are BPI-certified and TUV-certified, which means that our products have been tested and certified to meet specific standards for home and industrial compostability.
Do your products contain scents or fragrances?
No, our products are made completely scent-free and does not contain any fragrences.
Do your products have a shelf life?
Yes, our compostable products have a shelf life of 12 months. This is an important validator to their ability to breakdown as they're not meant to last forever.
We recommend purchasing for a maximum of 3-4 month usage period.
What is Plastno packaging made of?
We use minimal packaging to reduce the impact of single-use waste on the planet. Our packaging is all 100% recyclable and FSC-certified.
Orders & Shipping
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards, including Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.
How can I check the status of my order?
You'll receive a confirmation email once your order is placed and a tracking link once your order has been shipped out. We aim to ship orders out within 2 business days.
How do I modify or cancel my order?
We do our best to ship orders out within 2 business days, which means we might not catch yours in time to modify or cancel it. If you'd like to modify or cancel an order, please contact us ASAP and we'll do our best. You can email us at email@example.com.
How much is shipping?
Shipping to the US
Shipping is free on orders over $40 USD within the US. For any order less than $40 USD, our shipping is $8 USD.
Shipping to Canada
- $10 CAD for all orders going to Canada.
Shipping to the UK
- £8 GBP for all orders going to the UK.
How long will it take for my order to ship and arrive?
We aim to ship orders out within 2 business days. Depending on your destination address, orders can take between 4 - 8 business days to reach you.
How do I track my order?
Once your order ships, you'll receive a shipping confirmation email and tracking number. If it has been more than 5 business days since you placed your order and you still have not received a tracking number, send us an email and we will gladly assist you!
I haven't received my order/shipping confirmation email?
If you haven't received an email confirmation yet, check your spam folder. Some email providers might mark our emails as spam.
If that doesn't work, send us an email. We'll help update you on your order status. To ensure delivery to your inbox, please add firstname.lastname@example.org to your address book and safe-sender list.
My order is shown as "delivered" but I didn't receive it.
Occasionally our carriers will jump the gun and mark a package as delivered but won't drop it off until a few days after. If you still don't see your package after 3 business days, please reach out to email@example.com and we'll take care of it!
My order is stuck in-transit and hasn't moved in a few days.
While these carrier-related incidents are out of our control, we'll still make sure you receive your products. If you haven't seen a new tracking update from the carrier in 5 business days, please reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org and we'll investigate further.
I am missing something from my order. What should I do?
If something is missing from your order, just send us an email email@example.com and we'll be happy to see what happened!
My tracking number isn't working. What should I do?
New tracking numbers can take up to 24-48 hours to activate from the time you receive your shipping confirmation. If it's been more than 48 hours and your tracking number still isn't working, send us an email and we'll help get you a status update!
Returns & Refunds
Do you accept returns?
Our compostable products were made with you and the planet in mind. We’re confident that you’ll love them, but if you’re unhappy for any reason, you have 30 days from the date of purchase to request a return.
Do I need to pay for the return shipping?
Unfortunately yes. A return label fee of $8 USD will be deducted from your refund in order to send the item(s) back to us.

How do I return my order?

Where is my return?
If you placed a return request and it's been longer than 14 business days since our warehouse received your return, drop us a line so that we can expedite the process.
When should I expect my refund?
Once our warehouse has received your return, please allow up to 14 days for your refund to be issued. If it has been longer than 14 days, please contact us for assistance.
What if I had a problem with my order?

Do I need to set up an account to place an order, or can I check out as a Guest?
You can definitely check out as a guest without creating an account. However if you would like to easily manage your orders or review your past orders, we recommend creating an account with the same email address.
