Our mission is simple: make cleaning sustainable, while being safe, effective, and affordable.

How Plastno started
When we moved into our first home, our new neighborhood didn't have trash carts like the area we came from. Everyone just left their bags out on the curb on trash day. One morning, walking my dog past row after row of black plastic, it hit me: every bag on this street is going to outlive me.
I went down a rabbit hole on household plastic and kept landing on the same category: cleaning. I love to clean, so learning how much plastic and how many harsh chemicals come with the habit was a gut punch. And the more I looked for better options, the worse it got.
That's where the greenwashing started showing up. Brand after brand was selling the "fix," with eco-friendly, plant-based, or sustainable plastered on every label, and almost none of it held up when you read the fine print. Most of it is one decent ingredient wrapped in a story, then pushed across social media with claims the product can't actually back up. I was tired of squinting at labels and watching brands stretch the truth to sell one more product.
So I built the brand I wanted to buy from. Plastno makes cleaning sustainable without making you choose between what's safe for your family, what actually works, and what you can afford. Every product earns the strongest certification it can legitimately earn, nothing more. Every claim has to be defensible at the product level, not stretched across the catalog. And every price has to be one a normal household can keep paying, because if sustainable cleaning costs three times the regular version, people quit and nothing changes.
That's the bar. We won't lower it, and we're just getting started.

What Plastno stands for
The four values behind every decision at Plastno.
Effective first
A sustainable product that doesn't work isn't sustainable.
Proof over promises
Every Plastno claim is backed by independent certification.
Plastic-free by design
Plastic-free from the start, not as an afterthought.
For people & the planet
Employees, customers, suppliers, and the planet come before quarterly targets.

Zero waste cleaning has to work
We test every Plastno product against the conventional version you're using today. Our refillable sprays have to cut grease as well as a grocery-store spray. Our compostable bags have to hold kitchen trash without tearing. Our biodegradable sponges have to scrub clean without shedding microplastic. If a product can't pull its weight against the conventional one it's replacing, it doesn't get on the shelf.
About Plastno, before you order
What is Plastno?
Plastno is a privately held zero waste cleaning brand making plastic-free alternatives to the bottles, bags, and sponges most households still use. Founded in 2022 and based in New York, the brand ships a full cleaning line that's third-party certified and carbon-offset on every order.
What products does Plastno make?
Plastno covers the everyday cleaning categories that produce the most plastic waste in the average home: trash bags, multi-surface sprays, sponges, and reusable cloths. The full line is built so a single order can replace the bottles, bags, and sponges in an entire cleaning closet, all plant and mineral based and third-party certified.
Where is Plastno based and where are products made?
Plastno is based in New York, where the team operates. Manufacturing happens at BSCI-certified partner suppliers in China, audited each year for fair labor and safer working conditions. Every shipment is carbon-offset through verified removal partners, so the operation spans multiple countries without the emissions footprint that usually comes with it.
How is Plastno different from other eco cleaning brands?
Plastno started because the more we looked at what was marketed as sustainable cleaning, the less of it actually was. Pretty packaging, soft language, one decent ingredient propping up a story the rest of the formula couldn't back up.
So we built the version we wanted to keep using ourselves. Each product carries only the certifications it can fully back. Each claim is tied to the specific product it's printed on, not the brand around it. And each price has to be one a normal household can stay with. That last one is what we obsess over. Plastic-free cleaning that only fits a small slice of people doesn't move the needle on anything.
Can Plastno products replace my entire cleaning routine?
For most households, yes. Plastno covers the categories that produce the bulk of plastic cleaning waste: trash bags, multi-surface sprays, kitchen sponges, and reusable cloths. Specialty categories like laundry detergent and dishwasher tablets aren't part of the line yet, but the cleaning closet, kitchen sink, and trash bin are all covered.
