Most cleaning sprays do not tell you what is actually in them. A Plastno cleaning tablet uses eight ingredients, and we are happy to name every one. Here is the full list, what each ingredient does, and what you will not find in the formula.

The full ingredient list

Each tablet is built from eight mineral-based ingredients, chosen for a specific job:

  • Sodium carbonate (washing soda) cuts grease and lifts everyday grime from surfaces.
  • Tartaric acid balances the formula and helps lift mineral and soap residue.
  • Sodium N-lauroylsarcosinate is a mild surfactant that loosens dirt so it wipes away.
  • Sodium lauroyl glutamate is a second gentle surfactant that helps lift oils and films.
  • Sodium benzoate keeps the formula stable over time.
  • Sodium chloride (salt) supports the structure of the tablet.
  • Sodium phytate softens hard water so the cleaner works better.
  • Glycerin binds the tablet together and keeps it from drying out.

That is the whole formula. No filler list you need a chemistry degree to read, and nothing left off the label.

What you will not find

Just as important is what is missing:

  • No PVA. Many dissolvable cleaning tablets and pods are wrapped in or made with polyvinyl alcohol, a synthetic polymer. Plastno tablets are PVA-free.
  • No synthetic fragrance. The tablets are fragrance-free, so there is no added scent masking the formula.
  • No synthetic dyes and no phosphates.

Why mineral-based matters

A mineral-based cleaner works by loosening and lifting dirt, grease, and residue so you can wipe it away, rather than relying on harsh solvents. That makes it straightforward to use across counters, sinks, appliances, and most hard surfaces in the home.

How to use them

Drop one cleaning tablet into a refillable bottle filled with water, wait for it to dissolve, and clean. You keep and reuse one bottle, and reorder just the tablets, which is far less to throw away than buying a new plastic bottle of spray each time.

The packaging

The wrapper is paper with a thin aluminum inner liner, and both are curbside recyclable. The cleaner that goes inside is plastic-free from the tablet to the wrapper.

Certifications

Plastno cleaning tablets are Leaping Bunny certified, which means they are certified cruelty-free.
